    Re: PV @ Lee High

About the same things said for Lee last year at this time after the jamboree. The only place they really lost much is in the passing game but I think they'll have a good enough one to keep teams honest. The paper said 4 starters return on the line, I didn't think that was right at first but after thinking back on it I guess it is with some changes later on. Biggest loss on defense looks to be the defensive line, but I think they'll be fine there too, maybe not as quick there but did get a bit bigger. I can't see them falling off like some are saying.

Agreed on Jordan, though I think Vikara at RC may have something to say about that by the time this season's done.

I disagree with Coeburn winning. I love them, they're my almamater, Coach Mullins is an awesome guy...but unless they've found some players that haven't been on the team within the past few weeks--I wouldn't expect a CD title out of them. The loss of Bright, I think, is just way too much to overcome. I think they've got decent leadership on the coaching staff--not enough Jimmys & Joes though.

    Your crazy. haha

I think it is wide open in the CD. TS, TW and RC should be the lead dogs though. RC returns 4 starting lineman, have their best QB in 4 years and have speed. TW is probably the only team with as much speed on their team I would think. Vikara if he keeps his head on straight, will challenge Jordan for player of the year IMO. TS will have a good passing game I believe, but not a very good line or run game. If RC handles the football, and plays some form of D, they should win it IMO. I do have my concerns with their D though. I just don't like how their D has been run since Wolfe left.

I agree with that in there scrimage with Holston they looked WAY overmatched and worse than that they never seemed to make any type of adjustment to there Veer......That being said I understand that it being a scrimage that stoping the veer is not a priorty but it can not be good to let your team get gutted without makeing some effort to slow it down

The Cumberland is going to be the epitome of parity this year. No one will get through it unbeaten, and when Phillips returns,SP will be in the mix with TW,Coeburn, and RC for the top spot.I am as excited for Friday to get here as a man can get. You know it's bad when you have a peaceful night off away from killers, rapists, and thieves, and you are in a hurry to get back to work so you can knock 2 days down and have Friday off

Phillips is good and I hope he can come back. I talked to Mark about it Friday at the jamboree. I almost wonder if the incident with the Logue boy at South may make them think even harder about it. SPs problem is the line. They have some big kids, but they seem slow and not very aggressive. Castlewood, Coeburn, and Ervinton will be fighting for the bottom if I had to guess.

What is wrong specifically with him? The paper just says "medical issue". On a related note: I hear alot about Twigg from TW,but I believe you guys at RC have the best back in the distric (and one of the better in the region) in Vikara. The kid is tough as nails.

Vikara has also put on some muscle this summer. Apparently one of the lower chambers of his heart is beating too fast. Thats the way I understood it at least.
